Matt Hardy: I Wasn’t Crazy About The Idea Of Jimmy Uso Turning On Jey Uso

Matt Hardy shares his thoughts on Jimmy Uso turning on Jey Uso.

At WWE SummerSlm, Jimmy attacked Jey Uso during his match with Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. In doing so, he cost Jey the bout.

Speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, co-host Jon Alba asked the veteran about Jimmy’s betrayal.

“Maybe they have some ingenious plan worked out, and it’s gonna turn into a story that blows us all away. But in my opinion, and this is only my shi**y opinion, I would have rather not seen Jimmy turn on Jey in the big scheme of things. I love the fact that The Usos had been such an important part of the story.

“I love the fact that they had each other’s back, and I loved that Jey ended up making the decision to step away from Roman and go with his brother, and just for Jimmy to come back, it’s very WWE-ish, right? Once again, I don’t know.”

Matt Hardy Wanted The Usos To Stay Together

Hardy continued by noting that WWE might have a plan that will blow everyone away. That being said, he emphasized that he would have rather the brothers stayed together.

“Maybe they have something that’s gonna blow us away, I don’t know,” Hardy said. “But I wouldn’t have wanted to split up The Usos because I think they’re a great tag team. I think they’re most valuable when they’re together, as opposed to feuding against each other or having a big match on a big PLE.

“But I would have rather seen Jimmy return to it and still have Jey’s back in some way. I don’t know where I would have taken the ankle, I haven’t really thought about that. I tried to sit back and enjoy it, watching just as a spectator, a viewer of the product. But I wasn’t crazy about the idea of Jimmy betraying Jey.”

On the August 12 episode of WWE SmackDown, Jimmy explained that he cost Jey because he didn’t want him to become like Reigns. Jey then kicked him and seemingly walked out of WWE.
