Report: Update On Ace Steel’s AEW Status

Ace Steel is reportedly back with All Elite Wrestling. A new report shines some light on the situation.

AEW producer Ace Steel Steel was part of the infamous brawl between CM Punk and The Elite following AEW All Out 2022. He was subsequently released from the company. In May, Haus of Wrestling reported that Steel was re-hired months ago, and he had been working remotely.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that Steel is indeed back with AEW. Sapp wrote that Steel was brought back ahead of the launch of AEW Collision, but he hasn’t physically been at the shows. Back in May, sources indicated that Steel was told that he was considered an “insurance risk” due to the Brawl Out situation. As a result, he would not be allowed to attend events.

Sapp wrote that Steel met with AEW CEO Tony Khan in recent months, and it was ultimately decided that he could return in some company. However, he would not be on the road, and he would be allowed to pursue work elsewhere. The report notes that Steel’s contract is believed to be up in the fall of 2024.

Per Sapp, Steel periodically speaks with Khan, and he also “confers on a lot of things.” Given his connection with Punk, Steel reportedly suggests things for him specifically.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
