Report: Update On When CJ Perry’s AEW Deal Came Together

CJ Perry, formerly known as Lana, made her AEW debut at AEW All Out. A new report shines some light on the situation.

At AEW All Out, CJ Perry came to the ring after Miro’s match against Powerhouse Hobbs. She stopped Hobbs’ post-match attack, and Miro cleared him of the ring. He then walked out on Perry, his real-life wife.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that, per sources, Perry’s deal with the company came together a week or so ahead of AEW All Out. Additionally, Sapp noted that it’s unclear whether her on-screen name has officially been decided yet. The broadcast team referred to her as Miro’s wife on the pay-per-view.

Tony Khan Comments On CJ Perry’s AEW Debut

At the AEW All Out post-show media scrum, Tony Khan was asked about CJ Perry’s status with the company. The AEW CEO stated that it was not a long-term guaranteed deal.

“Well, CJ, I’ll start with that. I think it’s great to have CJ here. It’s not a long-term guaranteed thing or anything. But I think at least for tonight, it was great to have her appearing with us,” Khan said. “I think it was a great surprise, a great show.”

WrestleZone will monitor the situation and provide more information as it becomes available.
