WWE Lays Off Over 100 Employees Following WWE/UFC Merger

WWE‘s layoffs are complete, at least for September 15.

On Friday, WWE started making cuts as part of an effort to reduce their workforce following the completion of the company’s deal with Endeavor. WWE officially merged with UFC to form TKO on September 12.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that the layoffs for September 15 have been completed, and over 100 employees were let go.

Johnson wrote that some divisions were hit hard by the layoffs. Specifically, the Insights and Analytics team, which had over 20 members, lost 17 employees. The Marketing, Graphic Design, and Live Event departments were also affected. Johnson noted that not all divisions dealt with layoffs, as some smaller divisions or teams were not included in the cuts.

Per Johnson, no talent releases were made, and none were scheduled for Friday.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful also confirmed the news.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
