Report: Multiple Executives Depart WWE As Part Of Workforce Reductions

WWE layoffs are underway.

In April, WWE and Endeavor reached a transaction agreement that would see the company merge with UFC to form TKO, a new publicly traded company. The deal closed on September 12, so the merger is now official. WWE was widely expected to start making cuts on September 15, and the company began reducing their workforce on Friday.

Per Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Executive Vice President of Developmental and Digital Jamie Horowitz has departed the company. He had been working for WWE since 2021.

Additionally, Executive Vice President and Head of Marketing Catherine Newman has left the company. Per Johnson, she oversaw Marketing, Brand, Community Relations, Entertainment Relations, Creative Services and Photography. Newman had been with WWE since June 2022.

More WWE Departures

Johnson also reported that Amanda Bloom, WWE’s Director, Enterprise Master Data and Governance has departed the company. Bloom had been with the company for seven years and had a key role in the technology department, specifically with Metadata. Johnson wrote that Bloom was responsible for “designing the foundational content data model for navigation and discovery” on the WWE Network, among other responsibilities.

Additionally, per Johnson, Andy Levine, WWE Vice President, International & Platform Strategy, has departed the company. Levine had been with WWE since 2018.

As noted in Levine’s LinkedIn profile, he oversaw “WWE’s International social and digital strategy, production, teams, and agencies in 10+ markets, and work in collaboration with WWE’s lines of business including programming, partnerships, marketing, monetization, brand development, talent, content operations, rights strategy, and business planning.

Additionally, Levine led WWE’s Platform Strategy team, “which manages partner relationships, competitive analysis, and communications to accelerate growth and revenue across programming, e-commerce, and partnerships.”

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful confirmed the aforementioned departures.

Update: Per Johnson, Alexa Gotthardt, a manager for digital campaigns, also departed the company.  She had been with WWE since early 2022.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
