Bryan Danielson Says He’s ‘Fully Cleared’ For AEW WrestleDream Match Against Zack Sabre Jr.

Bryan Danielson will have no restrictions going into his match this Sunday at AEW WrestleDream against Zack Sabre Jr.

All Elite Wrestling‘s Bryan Danielson recently sat down with Joseph Staszewski of the New York Post. During the discussion, Danielson revealed that he’s been working the gimmick matches for the last month in order to protect his arm. It appears to have worked, as he confirms he’s fully cleared to compete this Sunday at WrestleDream.

“Our doctors would still not like me to do certain things, but from like two weeks ago when I had the tag match the strength in my hand is coming back way faster than they thought it would, the mobility and all that stuff,” Bryan Danielson said. “I still have to be cautious probably for the next year or so. They put a steel rod in my arm. One of the things they said is that it actually makes it more likely to break not where it broke before, but where the end of the rod is. It’s like a fulcrum for the bone to bend against.”

While many are excited about the dream match this Sunday between Danielson and Zack Sabre Jr., this isn’t the first time they’ve competed against each other as they first squared off against each other in 2008.

“I’m out there, and I am wrestling with him, and I’m like, ‘Oh he’s good,’” Bryan Danielson said. “Then I push him a little bit more, and I push him a little bit more. He starts pushing back. That’s when I realized there’s something special about him. He’s proven that time and time again since that time. Being in there with him and feeling it, I thought then this kid can be something special.”

Who is the best technical wrestler?

While the two men embarked on their own paths, Danielson watched his opponent for Sunday from afar. There were even points where The American Dragon questioned who the better technical wrestler was.

“I’d be like, ‘Why didn’t I think of that?” Bryan Danielson said. “When I was in WWE, a lot of the technical wrestling [Sabre was doing] wasn’t conducive to that style of technical wrestling. But when I was on the independents, I did a lot of that stuff. I would just be blown away by what Zack was doing, and I continue to be blown away to this day.”
