WWE SmackDown Viewership Rises On 9/29, Demo Drops

WWE SmackDown viewership increased on September 29.

According to the latest Fast Nationals data, this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown drew 2.115 million viewers, up from last week‘s 2.115 million viewers. In addition to the viewership, the 18-49 demo was 699K, which was down from last week’s 758K. However, it was still enough to keep SmackDown as the number one show on broadcast television Friday night.

Update: Wrestlenomics reports that 2.303 million viewers tuned in on Friday, and SmackDown scored a 0.60 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic.

What happened on WWE SmackDown this week?

This week‘s episode of WWE SmackDown opened up with The Bloodline. Karl Anderson hopped the guardrail and attacked Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa from behind. This led to a match between Jimmy and Karl which was won by Jimmy.

Elsewhere on the show, Charlotte Flair defeated Bayley. Following the match, a triple threat was made for the WWE Women’s Championship at Fastlane between Flair, Asuka, and IYO SKY. Plus, Rey Mysterio defeated Santos Escobar to retain the United States Championship.

In the closing segment of the show, The Bloodline attacked John Cena. This brought up LA Knight who helped Cena get the upper hand. Knight signed the contract to be Cena’s partner at Fastlane.
