Nick Aldis made an unexpected appearance on the July 6 episode of WWE RAW despite being placed on administrative leave, throwing another wrench into an already chaotic night.
His return came as tensions continued to rise following the fallout from Night of Champions, leaving fans wondering how far this rivalry is willing to go.
With the Undisputed WWE Championship picture already in turmoil, Aldis’ surprise arrival proved that suspension papers don’t always keep WWE officials behind closed doors.
Nick Aldis confronts Gunther and Adam Pearce on WWE RAW
RAW began with new Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn arriving at the arena ahead of his scheduled title defense against Cody Rhodes. However, the situation quickly spiraled after Gunther ambushed Rhodes, leaving him bloodied and casting doubt over the night’s main event.
Later backstage, RAW General Manager Adam Pearce confronted Gunther about his actions. Before the conversation could go much further, suspended SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis unexpectedly arrived, ignoring the administrative leave imposed after his altercation with Gunther at Night of Champions.
Gunther wasted no time firing a verbal shot at Aldis, saying, “We know you failed as a wrestler, and now you’re failing as a general manager.” Security stepped in to separate the situation, but the drama was far from over.
After The Ring General was escorted away, Aldis and Pearce exchanged heated words. Pearce criticized Aldis for allowing his emotions to jeopardize multiple matches. Aldis reminded “Mr. Both Shows” that he likely would have reacted the same way in a similar situation. Nick Aldis also blamed Pearce for Cody Rhodes’ condition. He argued that the RAW GM’s handling of events had put the championship match at risk.
The confrontation added another chapter to the growing rivalry between Aldis and Gunther.
