Zack Sabre Jr. Challenges Bryan Danielson To A Rematch… In England Or Japan

Zack Sabre Jr. wants another match with Bryan Danielson, but it’s going to be on his terms.

Danielson beat ZSJ at WrestleDream on Sunday night, but Sabre Jr. says the match proved nothing. He contends that Danielson was supposed to win via submission but “chickened out” by using knee strikes.

Zack Sabre Jr. wants a rematch and named the two locations he’ll do it in.

“You’ve been the best in the world for what, over two decades? I wrestled you in 2008 and you put me on the map. For that, I will be eternally grateful. But today, today darlin’, we were supposed to settle something, weren’t we? Who is the best technical wrestler, not in the world right now, but probably of all bloody time!

“But knocking me out, Bryan, that’s a scoundrel move! From ‘Brittle Bryan’, I felt your bones disintigrate in my hands, Bryan. So I want my rematch because this proved nothing. And we’re going to do the rematch in my home turf, England, or my adopted home turf of Japan. Because I did you the solid mate, didn’t I? Did you a proper solid by coming to Seattle. Submissions in Seattle, huh? But you didn’t beat me by submission. You chickened out. You chickened out and used your knees. Well Bryan, we’ll find out in the rematch who the best technical wrestler in the world is, and I’ll put you into retirement for good, dickhead.”

AEW will return to the UK in 2024 for All In at Wembley Stadium. Bryan Danielson has also been open about his desire to return to compete in Japan. He said it’s all about prioritizing things, and a trip like that might clash with his time with his family. Since those remarks, Danielson has expressed his desire to compete in the New Japan G1 Climax tournament. He said it’d require him to miss several weeks of AEW TV, but he feels like there’s a “small chance” it could happen.

After Sabre Jr.’s remarks, it seems as if Bryan might be closer to getting his wish to go overseas.
