Swerve Strickland: Teaming With Keith Lee Was A Phenomenal Experience

Swerve Strickland has fond memories of his tag team run with Keith Lee.

All Elite Wrestling‘s Swerve Strickland was a recent guest on The Mark Hoke Show. When asked about his time teaming with Keith Lee in Swerve in our Glory, Strickland called it a phenomenal experience.

“Oh, man. Working with Keith at the time was a phenomenal experience,” Swerve Strickland said. “I wish — I bet a lot of fans wish that we had those tag titles now or like were running around with them in this time. Not to take any credit away from FTR they’re still putting out bangers especially what they just did with like Jay White and Juice Robinson. It was one of the best tag matches I’ve seen all year. It’s incredible work.

“But I feel like there’s a flux of the tag team division that we’re still working on in a sense too. But man, once again, I think when me and Keith Lee did tag earlier this year against Darby Allin and Orange Cassidy, I feel people were like, ‘Oh man, this nostalgia.’ Nostalgia? It’s not even like a year ago. But there was like a little bit of nostalgia, and they’re like, ‘Man, we didn’t appreciate these guys when they were on top with the tag titles doing very unique things.’

“Bringing out like the Rick Ross accusations GIFs and Kevin Gates and like doing like all these different unique things. And you didn’t know what was going to happen between us. Because there’s always something unique about our entrance, like are they on the same page? Is it gonna go this way and stuff? There was always a story, not between our opponents, but the story between me and Keith Lee. That’s what made our tag team kind of unique.”
