It sounds like the era of the general manager might be returning to WWE soon.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, former IMPACT and NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis will make his WWE SmackDown debut later on tonight in an authority figure role.
Johnson states that Aldis is scheduled to be the authority figure on SmackDown moving forward. This would suggest that he’s signed a full-time deal with the company.
Triple H has been announced to appear on SmackDown tonight, so it would make sense that he would be there to introduce Aldis to the WWE Universe.
If Adam Pearce remains the authority figure on WWE RAW, it would be the first time that two former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champions held these roles in the company at the same time.
