CJ Perry: My AEW Debut Was A Matter Of Timing, Miro Has Been Plotting It

CJ Perry‘s arrival in AEW was a matter of figuring out the right time.

Since Miro made his AEW debut in 2020, fans often speculated about CJ Perry’s potential move to the company. The former Lana was paired up with her real-life husband, then known as Rusev, for years in WWE. Miro often referenced his “hot and flexible” wife on AEW TV, but it took until AEW All Out 2023 for Perry to make her first appearance in an AEW ring.

Speaking with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Perry was asked how her arrival in AEW came about. She noted that it was a matter of timing, and Miro has been “plotting” it for about two years now. Perry stated that she had other projects, so it was figuring out the right time.

“The time is now [laughs],” CJ Perry said. “Well, definitely subscribe to CJPerry.com, so you can get the full tea. I think it was just a timing thing. This was always a discussion. Miro’s been plotting this out for a really long time.

“He’s been talking about the hot and flexible wife for probably two years now, wanting to bring me in, setting the stage. It was just a timing thing. I had a lot of other things going on, a couple different projects. It was just figuring out the timing, and the timing was right. All of it was his idea, to be honest. I’m just hired talent right now.”

CJ Perry: Miro Is A Method Actor

During the interview, CJ Perry whether Miro runs anything by her with his promos. She noted that how she doesn’t know what he’s going to say. Perry also recalled how Miro is such a method actor that she couldn’t even talk to him when she debuted at AEW All Out.

“No. I don’t even know half the time,” CJ Perry said. “He’s a big method actor. Sometimes, he will literally be mad at me, and I realize, like after his promo, he won’t talk to me, he won’t look at me. He’ll be like, ‘Get away.’ He’ll be pushing [when he’s] warning.

“Not even kidding, when I went out there [at AEW All Out], I couldn’t even talk to him. He’s like, ‘Don’t talk to me.’ I’m like, ‘What are you doing, method acting?’ He’s like, ‘Hmph,’ and walks off.”

Miro will face Action Andretti, who expressed his interest in Perry’s managerial services, on the October 21 episode of AEW Collision.
