Sami Zayn has been sidelined with an injury, WWE announced on Monday during tonight’s episode of WWE RAW.
Last week, Zayn got into an argument with Drew McIntyre backstage during WWE RAW. Zayn asked McIntyre whether or not his family would be proud of him, and that sent Drew into a rage. McIntyre attacked Zayn, and attacked his leg after it looked like Zayn had injured it.
Eventually, Adam Pearce had to step in and stop McIntyre, leaving a hurt Zayn on the ground. During tonight’s broadcast, Michael Cole revealed that Zayn had partially torn his meniscus, and would be sidelined as a result.
While it’s unclear if Zayn is truly hurt or not, Zayn did request and was granted some time off from WWE earlier this week. Dave Meltzer reported that there was no word on when the time off would begin. Per Meltzer, Zayn is not scheduled for the December 28 live event in Laval, Quebec, which would typically feature Zayn.
