Matt Cardona: I Don’t Care About Proving People Wrong, I Want To Prove Myself And My Fans Right

One of the talents who achieved fame in WWE and went on to dominate the Independent Circuit is Matt Cardona. He has captured a handful of championships during his time in the Stamford-based promotion. One such title is the United States Championship.

Matt Cardona went by the name Zack Ryder in WWE. After parting ways with Edge (Adam Copeland), Cardona had a singles run. The Long Island Iced-Z also earned opportunities to capture singles gold. The first singles title he captured was the United States Championship. He defeated a former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Dolph Ziggler to do so.

Recently, Matt Cardona took to Twitter to celebrate the 12-year anniversary of his US Title victory.

“12 years ago I defeated @heelziggler in a shoot fight to become the @WWE United States Champion. I started the year as an absolutely nobody and was hardly ever on RAW. I said F that. I created my own YouTube show and pushed MYSELF! I ended the year winning a title on PPV! Yeah, I worked my ass off…but WWE wouldn’t have paid attention without my fans supporting me and believing in me. 12 years later…I’m working my ass off more than ever. And my fans are STILL supporting me and believing in me! You’re the reason I’m the INDY GOD! I don’t give a damn (then or now) about proving people wrong…I want to prove myself and my fans right. I did it before… AND I’LL DO IT AGAIN! (Check out the original nameplates and the custom property of ZR plate),” Matt Cardona tweeted.

One of his biggest moments was winning the Intercontinental Title in a Ladder match on the grandest stage of them all WrestleMania.
