Tyler Bate has made his main roster WWE debut tonight, when he appeared alongside Butch in a tag team match.
Bate was announced as the tag team partner just ahead of the match tonight on SmackDown, with Butch having to pick his own teammate and choosing Bate. In the match itself, Bate and Butch won pretty handily, as Butch hit a big move on Pretty Deadly’s Kit Wilson for the win.
Bate was the inaugural and final NXT UK Champion, and is also a former NXT Heritage Cup Champion. Bate has also held both the NXT and NXT UK Tag Team Championship, and actually does have a history with Butch, having beaten Butch to become the first ever NXT UK Champion.
It’s unclear what Bate’s role in WWE will be moving forward.
