Booker T Says WWE Should Pull The Trigger On The Rock vs. Roman Reigns

Booker T weighs in on the buzz about The Rock finally facing Roman Reigns.

With The Rock seemingly back in the fold at WWE to set up a potential match against Roman Reigns, the debate has already begun as to when and where the dream match should take place.

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T weighed in on the discussion during a recent episode of his Hall of Fame podcast as he believes WWE should capitalize on the buzz. (H/t Fightful for the transcription)

“It’s got a buzz. Everybody talking about it. I think that’s the modus operandi,” Booker T said. “I think that’s what that is, more than anything. For me, you don’t want to let that thing simmer too long. Rock, Father Time waits for no man [laughs], that’s just the way it is. For The Rock to get it done, this could be a great time for it. For Roman as well. Roman’s in his prime, at the height of his title reign.

“It’s not gonna get any higher than this. If it is that time to pull the trigger, hey man, pull the trigger. The Rock’s back. Rock got a little time off. Right now with everything going on in Hollywood, might as well come over here and keep yourself in shape. What do I always say? Time off is your worst enemy. You don’t want that, you want to stay active. You want to stay in the game. So I get it.”

Booker T On How Rock vs. Reigns Could Impact Cody Rhodes

On the subject of Rock vs. Reigns potentially delaying Cody Rhodes finishing his story yet again, Booker T noted that the business is fluid. He then stated that Rock may only have a small window to compete if he is able to.

“WrestleMania is a singular event. I don’t know how many other guys are gonna come out of that curtain and get that pop It’s a no-brainer. It’s a no-brainer,” Booker T added. “It’s nothing against the talent on the roster or anything like that… I’m just saying, it’s a lot right there on the table. It’s a lot to digest. Everything’s fluid. Sometimes you gotta go with what’s hot. That’s just the way the business is. It’s always been that way.”

As announced on the January 5 episode of WWE SmackDown, Roman Reigns is set to defend his title in a Fatal 4-Way Match at WWE Royal Rumble. More information is available here.
