Samoa Joe Introduces New AEW World Title On 1/10 AEW Dynamite

Samoa Joe is making changes.

During the January 10 episode of AEW Dynamite, new AEW World Champion Samoa Joe appeared live at Daily’s Place with a new championship belt following MJF’s year-long reign with the Burberry title. The new title has a black strap again and includes exchangeable side plates.

Those aren’t the only changes, however, as Joe is implementing a new “Championship Protocol.” He declared that anyone who wants a shot at his gold will need to submit it to the championship committee to determine if they’re worthy. Plus, they need to stop whining on the microphone and on social media.

Before long, Swerve Strickland interrupted and stated his intentions before Hangman Page came out and also staked his claim to both of them. Strickland ended up leaving before Page and Joe shared a brief face-to-face confrontation. Once Joe was alone in the ring again, HOOK made his way out and made it clear he wants Joe in “one week.”

It was later made official that Joe will defend the AEW World title against HOOK on the January 17 Dynamite in Charleston, South Carolina.
