“I’m thrilled to have Tyrus join the OutKick family and I have no doubt he will be a perfect fit,” OutKick’s Senior Vice President and Managing Editor Gary Schreier said. He’s had a fascinating career and brings a unique and an incredibly smart perspective to the OutKick audience that continues to grow.”

“I’ve been following OutKick for a while now and what they have built is something special,” Tyrus added. “They don’t hold back and are always speaking their mind, so joining the platform was an easy decision. Tyrus on retirement

Tyrus spoke with SLAM Wrestling after NWA 75 and explained his decision to retire.

“I’m good,” he said. “We beat the hell out of each other. Everything is in slow motion.”

Tyrus said the retirement stipulation was his idea, citing his age and desire to be around for his children more often.

“[They wanted] Daddy to be home more often,” Tyrus said, adding that he could now attend their various sports games and take them fishing. “It was all my idea.”

“The NWA is exploding,” he added. “So, EC3 will be defending all over. I feel he has been overlooked a lot. Me and him, just seemed right.”
