Will Ospreay On Triple H Promo: I’m Done Mentioning Anyone Over There, I Don’t Need To

Will Ospreay says he doesn’t need to lower himself by taking shots at anyone “over there”.

Will Ospreay was the source of plenty of controversy when he took a shot at WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H in a promo on the April 10 episode of AEW Dynamite. Triple H previously said that wrestlers who were not in it for the grind had no business being in WWE. Many fans took his comments as a shot at Ospreay.

During the AEW Dynasty post-show media scrum, Will Ospreay was asked about his comments and whether he felt that his performances helped quiet the conversation.

“Yes. I mean, of course, [but] I don’t want to address it anymore,” Will Ospreay said. “I come from a generation when like, the way I grew up, if you throw a jab, I throw one back. Although I wasn’t mentioned by name, it’s clearly about me. So all due respect, I’m kind of done with mentioning anyone over there now. I don’t want to do that anymore because I feel like I lowered myself to that standard. I don’t need to do that anymore. Look what I just did in the ring with Bryan. That’s only match two with pay-per-views. I’ve got a f**k load more to go down. So with all due respect, if you take everything into consideration, of course I’m annoyed about the jab that I took. I threw one back.”

Will Ospreay: I Won’t Go Down That Road Anymore

Will Ospreay went on to state that the shot was the first time he had experienced true tribalism in wrestling, and he thought it was unnecessary. He reiterated that he was done going down that road.

“I don’t think it was anything bad, it’s a f**king joke from 20 years ago, for f**k’s sake,” Will Ospreay said. “Don’t be too butthurt. I’ll be honest with you, that’s the first I’ve ever experienced true tribalism between the two. It’s not nice, it’s unnecessary. I’m over it, I can’t be bothered with it. I just want to focus on promoting AEW.

“I don’t regret what I said because you take the entire thing into consideration, it did piss me off. But from this day on, I won’t go down that road. I don’t need to. I’m the best wrestler in the world. Don’t need to f**kinh f**k with guys below me.”
