CM Punk was one of the hosts of WWE Backlash Kickoff, but his day took an unexpected twist.
WWE held Backlash in France on May 4. The Kickoff pre-show was held at WWE Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. Former WWE Champion CM Punk was one of the hosts, alongside Big E and Jackie Redmond.
In a series of posts on Instagram, CM Punk revealed that he got locked in WWE Headquarters after the show.
In one post, CM Punk noted that he hid in the bathroom, and he then decided to work out at the gym in the building. He quipped that he was whispering because he was not supposed to be there.
Punk went on to update fans by showing that he was looking at pictures of NXT stars at WWE HQ. He also tapped the Andre the Giant statue.
Update: Punk revealed that he was still locked inside on May 5. He noted that he went back to the gym. Punk also teased that he would stick around for WWE RAW in Hartford on Monday.
