John Cena Receives Heaps of Praise From JBL After Retirement Announcement

At the WWE Money In The Bank Premium Live Event, 16-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena made a surprise appearance. He also shocked the WWE Universe by officially announcing his retirement. The Leader of the Cenation revealed that his final match will be in 2025. Cena also mentioned that his retirement tour will begin in January 2025 with about 30 to 40 competitive appearances left in him. Following Cena’s retirement announcement, WWE Hall of Famer JBL took to Twitter to share some positive words about his former rival.

JBL appreciated John Cena for being the guy to carry WWE during the PG Era. The WWE Hall of Famer also shared that he is going to enjoy every single second of John Cena’s final run and mentioned that Cena is one of the Greatest wrestlers of all time.

“Imagine having to follow the Attitude Era and carry the company in a G rated era. It’s the hardest thing ever asked of a champion in my opinion. I don’t know anyone that could have done that in the history of this business but @JohnCena one of best and most respectful guys I’ve ever met, so happy for him and so proud I got to see his historic run. Gonna enjoy every second of his finale. If he ain’t the GOAT, it’s a short list he’s on!” JBL tweeted.

With regards to his retirement announcement, at the Post-show MITB Press Conference, Cena mentioned that after his final match in 2025, he will retire for good but will be a part of WWE in some way or the other forever.
