Kenny Omega and Konosuke Takeshita paid tribute to a popular manga at AEW Revolution.
At AEW Revolution, Konosuke Takeshita defended the AEW International Championship against Kenny Omega. The match was Omega’s return to action at a standard AEW pay-per-view for the first time in over a year, as he was sidelined for the duration of 2024 due to diverticulitis. Omega and Takeshita paid tribute to Hajime no Ippo, a popular manga, with their gear.

Omega entered AEW Revolution as a challenger, and he walked out as a champion. Don Callis interfered in the match, but Omega still caught Takeshita by surprise with a pin for the win. Omega emotionally celebrated after the match, as the road back to the ring had been a grueling journey.
In a post on social media, Kenny Omega commented on his win by saying, “One step closer to getting it all back.”
