Saddened to hear of the end of the journey at 99 for the fabulous Bill Mercer. Truly the Godfather of DFW sports broadcasting, a national treasure, mentor, teacher, story teller & friend. Race well run old friend. May his memory be for a blessing ???????? pic.twitter.com/tZsEnjH2Wr

Mr. Mercer was a pillar of sports broadcasting, as well as the legendary voice of World Class Championship Wrestling. He was so kind to chat with me whenever he visited the Round Rock Express. The wrestling world and the sports world have lost a great individual. #RIPBill https://t.co/mSvfZ1cNuG pic.twitter.com/Cxq8jQz1YB

In addition to covering the Cowboys, Rangers, Mean Green, wrestling, and the JFK assassination, he founded KNTU and created the legendary sports broadcasting class at UNT.
An absolute titan of the industry. pic.twitter.com/3wHYRfySqk
