Josh Alexander has heaped praise on TJP after battling with the NJPW star in a sixty-minute Iron Man match.
Back in 2011, the two stars competed in an iconic match in TNA history. They battled for sixty minutes over the X-Division Championship at the Skyway Studios, with Josh Alexander picking up the victory with two falls to one.
That match convinced Alexander that TJP should be a big star and is shocked he isn’t making millions. Josh Alexander spoke with the Johnny I Pro Show about TJP and their legendary Iron Man match. (H/T to POST Wrestling for the transcription.)
He called the NJPW star “one of the most underrated wrestlers in the world”. He thinks that he should be making millions upon millions of dollars due to his talent, adding that he’s learnt a lot from their matches together.
“The one thing I take away from it, I can’t talk good enough about TJP.” Josh Alexander said.
“I think TJP is one of the most underrated wrestlers in the world to this day. The fact that he isn’t making millions upon millions of dollars to either train pro wrestlers or perform as a wrestler on some platform blows my mind! That’s how talented this guy is in the ring. He’s a magician and I’ve learned so much from him…” added Josh Alexander.
Josh Alexander Says He Was Supposed To Cross Over To NXT, But It Didn’t Happen
Through a partnership that was later formalized in January, stars of WWE NXT and TNA Wrestling have the opportunity to crossover into each other’s stomping grounds. For TNA’s Josh Alexander, this created a potential pathway to reunite with his former tag team partner Ethan Page. As Alexander explains, though, no plans for an NXT appearance ever materialized for him across the board.
“I will say that there was one certain situation where I was supposed to go that did not happen. There was maybe two other situations where I was asked to go. It got shut down for whatever which reason that wasn’t my own doing,” Alexander told Straight Talk Wrestling. “No hard feelings on my end. I apparently have options on the table, so there’s no hard feelings, nothing like that.
“There was definitely plenty of stories that could have been told whether The North re-reunited for one night only or I went one-on-one with Ethan Page in some capacity just because of all the history we have together. There was a lot of stuff thrown at me at certain times and whether it’s true, false, or whatever, it just didn’t materialize for whatever reason. Timing wasn’t there for it.”
