Kevin Owens isn’t opposed to meeting fans in public places. However, he had some key advice for how to act if you do.
Owens recently spoke with Chris Van Vliet, and the topic of fan etiquette at airports was approached. He explained why he doesn’t sign things for fans at airports anymore. KO also highlighted the potentially dangerous situations that female talent like Rhea Ripley have found themselves in with fans.
Owens later clarified that he’s actually fine if a respectful fan approaches and he can accommodate. What he does take issue with, however, are “fans” that are clearly there with merchandise to sell.
“To clarify: If you happen to run into me at an airport or wherever, really, feel free to come talk to me or ask for a picture or an autograph if you want and if I am in a position to oblige, I absolutely will,” Owens wrote on Twitter/X. “If you come to the airport with a plastic bin full of merch and wait at baggage claim with 26 other people and get upset when I say I won’t sign but I’m happy to take a picture with you, go have intercourse with yourself. ?”

One fan followed up and asked why Owens is fine with taking a picture at all. Owens highlighted that it’s still something to reward the good fans. He also noted that good fans are often shut out because of the actions of the bad ones.
“Because a picture takes a second,” Owens added. “Usually, the people that are there to sell the stuff we sign have a dozen things to sign. I used to say “I’ll sign one” and still get attitude back. Or they’d get something signed and then come back again a few seconds later, hoping I didn’t pay close enough attention to who I was signing for and try to get something else signed. It’s like anything else in life…the people that are cool and sensible end up paying the price because of the ones that are selfish pricks. Taking a picture with everyone is my way of making sure the good ones still get something.”
Kevin Owens announced he was pulling out of his WrestleMania 41 match with Randy Orton due to a neck injury. He shared when he believes the injury happened during a follow-up interview after he announced he had to take a hiatus for surgery.
