Cody Rhodes delivered yet another unforgettable entrance at WWE WrestleMania 41 by wearing an Iron Man-inspired version of his American Nightmare helmet.
Rhodes, who had a special entrance last year at WrestleMania 40 with a custom-made American Nightmare mask, didn’t disappoint fans this year either. At Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, he delivered another memorable entrance.
Before Cody made his entrance, a group of dirt bike riders revved up the energy with a thrilling stunt performance. Moments later, Cody Rhodes stepped onto the ramp wearing a custom American Nightmare helmet that opened up just like Iron Man’s iconic mask, drawing a huge reaction from the crowd.
However, Cody Rhodes paying tribute to Iron Man wasn’t just a random idea. During his first run in WWE, he had a planned storyline that never made it to TV. Cody Rhodes and Brandi Rhodes were set to introduce a new character arc called “Rhodes Industries,” inspired by Marvel’s Stark Industries.
The idea was for Cody to play a wealthy, arrogant businessman similar to Tony Stark but with a villainous twist. Meanwhile, Brandi would take on a role similar to a heel version of Pepper Potts, supporting Cody’s new persona.
Cody Rhodes reacts to heartbreaking defeat at WWE WrestleMania 41
Cody Rhodes, who had a special Iron Man-inspired entrance at WWE WrestleMania 41, lost his title to John Cena. With this win, Cena made history by becoming a 17-time WWE Champion. During the match, Travis Scott made a surprise appearance where he came face-to-face with Rhodes.
Rhodes confronted Scott, as this was their first face-off since Elimination Chamber in Toronto, where Scott had slapped Rhodes and injured his eardrum. This time, Rhodes got receipts by hitting Scott with a Cross Rhodes.
Following this, John Cena grabbed the title belt and tried to hit Cody Rhodes. Rhodes managed to pull the belt away from him. Cena suddenly begged Cody not to attack him. As Rhodes hesitated, Cena took advantage of the moment, delivered a low blow, and then struck Cody with the title for the win.
After the match, Cody walked backstage with his wife, Brandi Rhodes. Cathy Kelley approached him for a comment, but Cody stayed silent and went straight to his bus.
Meanwhile, John Cena skipped answering questions at the post-show press conference. He called the media’s questions “clickbait” but told fans to tune into Monday Night RAW for what comes next.
