WWE NXT Results:

Say His Name…

TNA World Champion Joe Hendry is here and reminds the fans that Trick Williams attacked him from behind after he successfully defended his title. Williams can’t stand the fact that they aren’t talking about Williams; the people are talking about believing in Jor Hendry. The crowd chants that they believe. Hendry calls Williams entitled. Williams knows NXT Champion Oba Femi won’t give Williams another title shot, so he thought he would take a shot at the TNA World Champion. Hendry is going to say Williams’ name and make him appear. Hendry demands Williams get to the ring. The arena goes dark. DarkState‘s music hits. Darkstate attacks Hendry, leaving him lying after a tossing powerbomb.

Grade: C+

Hendry cut a good promo, but the inclusion of DarkState here made this one fall a bit flat. Unless Williams is revealed to be part of DarkState, having this end with a beatdown from the Performance Center bullies doesn’t add anything to the program. If this just leads to another DarkState vs. singles stars, we are getting into a predictable and boring. pattern

NXT North American Championship Match: Ricky Saints (c) vs. Lexis King

King attacks Saints during his entrance. Saints fires up and lands a dropkick. Saints eats an up kick, which allows King to take control. King hits the ropes and runs into an overhead throw by Saints. Saints dropkicks King through the ropes and poses on the barricade. After the break, King is working over Saints. Saints fires up and hits the Rochambeau for the win.

Winner and STILL NXT North American Champion, Ricky Saints!

Grade: B

Fun match. These two have good chemistry. King never had a chance here, but watching him lose was highly entertaining.

The Don Has Something To Say

Tony D’Angelo recounts his history of being loyal to Stacks. It goes back to when they were kids. D’Angelo knows Stacks has always wanted the big seat. Stacks has always had D’Angelo’s back until Stand and Deliver. Stacks appears on the ‘Tron. D’Angelo takes his jacket off. Stacks says he is sick of taking D’Angelo’s orders. D’Angelo is getting soft.

The decisions D’Angelo has made the family look weak. Stacks can see D’Angelo is shaking. Stacks says D’Angelo doesn’t know who he can trust. D’Angelo starts to look around. Some of D’Angelo’s security team attacks him. D’Angelo quickly dispatches them. D’Angelo grabs the mic and says if Stacks wants to be ‘The Don’ he’ll have to come to the ring. Stacks walks away.

NXT North American Champion: Sol Ruca w/Zaria vs. Karmen Petrovic w/Ashante “Thee” Adonis

Petrovic takes control early. Ruca eventually lands the Sol Snatcher for the win.

Winner- Sol Ruca

After the match, Adonis tries to talk to Petrovic. Petrovic kicks Adonis in the head.

Grade: C

Standard stuff here. The Adonis/Petrovic thing ending is better for everyone involved. Love angles almost always suck.

Whoop Dat Trick!

Williams says Joe Hendry’s name, but he doesn’t appear. Last week Hendry had Williams number, but Williams got his get back. Hendry isn’t on Williams level. Williams says Femi has something he wants. NXT GM Ava walks out on the stage and complains about Williams’ behavior. Williams says he is the biggest superstar here. Ava says if Williams wants a shot, he will have to win a battle royal will face Oba Femi at Battleground for the NXT Championship.

Grade: B

Williams is back to be a full on bad guy and it works. Williams whining has earned him a spot facing 20+ others for a potential shot at getting “his” championship back. This is classic stuff.

NXT Tag Team Championship Match: Hank & Tank (Hank Walker & Tank Ledger) (c) vs. Josh Briggs & Yoshiki Inamura

Inamura runs over Hank and Tank. Hank and Tank double-team Inamura and get a near fall. Briggs tags in and takes Tank out with a crossbody. Inamura and Briggs take control and clear the ring. After the break, Briggs breaks up Hank and Tank’s finish. Briggs launches Hank into the ring steps. Briggs and Inamura land their finish on Tank. Hank breaks up the pin. Inamura accidentally hits Briggs with Hank, knocking him out of the ring. Hank and Tank land their combo slam finish for the win.

Winners and STILL NXT Tag Team Champions, Hank and Tank!

Grade: C+

Every Hank and Tank match is seemingly exactly the same thing. It’s amazing to have that much energy yet, no charisma. Briggs is going to turn on Inamura, so we should just fast forward to that so we can move on from this. Inamura vs. Briggs could actually be interesting.

Women’s World Champion IYO SKY and Jordynne Grace vs. Roxanne Perez and Giulia

SKY beats Perez into the corner Slingshot Meteora by SKY. Giulia saves Perez from a slam. SKY backflips and lands a dropkick that floors Perez and Giulia. SKY dives off Grace’s shoulders and lands a senton. Perez kicks out. Giulia tags in and trades takedowns and pin attempts with Grace. Invertered Gutbuster by Grace. Giulia kicks out. Perez distracts the referee while Giulia rakes Grace’s eyes. Perez and Giulia take turns working over Grace.

Grace manages to tag SKY. SKY clears the ring. Grace and SKY set up another move with SKY on Grace’s shoulders. Perez and Giulia trip Grace on the apron, causing both women to crash and burn. After the break, Grace lands a flurry of offense. Grace and SKY lands a double stomp/Gory Special. Perez breaks up the pin by diving off the top and crossbody, blocking Grace into the pin. Giulia lands a Northern Lights bomb. Perez follows that with a double jump moonsault. Grace breaks up the pin. Perez attempts Pop Rocks. SKY rolls through and kicks Perez in the head. SKY crushes Perez with the Over the Moonsault for the win.

Winners- IYO SKY and Jordynne Grace

Grade: B+

Great match. Everyone went at 100% tonight and put on a bangeer. Each woman had a moment in the match were they stoof above the field, which is a great way to highlight everyone in a tag match. Grace used her power to fling multiple people around the ring at the same time, Giulia vicious strikes, Perez’s crafty mat skills, and SKY superior aerial assault. It was all on full display tonight. This was the match of the night.
