Mercedes Moné Explains What It Would Mean To Win The Owen Hart Cup Tournament

AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Moné aims to honor Owen Hart’s legacy by winning the Owen Hart cup.

Mercedes Moné set to face Jamie Hayter in the tournament finals at AEW Double or Nothing. Since entering the tournament, Moné has defeated Julia Hart and Athena to reach the finals. With the final set to take place in a few weeks, Moné and Hayter have been engaging in a heated rivalry.

With AEW Double or Nothing just weeks away, Mercedes Moné revealed what it would mean to win the Owen Hart Tournament. Speaking in an interview with Denise Salcedo, Moné expressed her admiration for the Hart family and her desire to honor Owen’s legacy.

“It would mean everything to me to honor Owen’s legacy. Like I said before, I’m a big fan of the Harts. The Harts are very close to me Natalya Hart, TJ Wilson, DH Smith the Harts. And don’t forget Uncle Bret. Hi Bret, love you so much the best there is, the best there was, just like me.”

Moné stated that bringing the cup home would be significant for her, potentially adding another title to her collection. “But, it would mean everything to me to bring that cup home. I guess that would make me five belts Moné, if I could keep that pink title as well. But Double or Nothing is like it’s on my mind. I’m ready to beat Jamie Hayter; she has been pissing me off week upon week. But really, my goal is to main event All In in Texas. That is my dream, that is my goal, and that’s what I’m going to get.”

While Moné prepares to face Jamie Hayter in the Owen Hart Cup finals, she recently suffered a setback. Last week at NJPW Resurgence, Moné lost her New Japan STRONG Women’s Championship in a triple threat match against AZM and Mina Shirakawa. However, AZM pinned Shirakawa to win the title, meaning Moné wasn’t directly involved in the lost.
