WATCH: AEW Couple Share Emotional Moment After Owen Hart Tournament Loss

The 2026 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament has seen quite a few highlight-worthy moments, but one of its most emotional scenes happened away from the ring. After suffering a heartbreaking loss in the women’s tournament, Alex Windsor shared an emotional backstage moment with her fiancé, Will Ospreay.

Windsor entered the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament hoping to earn the biggest opportunity of her AEW career. The winner of the tournament would get a shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In London.

Unfortunately, her journey came to an end on the June 3 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Windsor had been scheduled to face a mystery Wild Card entrant. That surprise turned out to be Mercedes Moné, who was making her first AEW appearance in about six months. Despite putting up a strong fight, Windsor struggled to survive Moné. The CEO submitted Windsor with Statement Maker submission hold.

The loss ended her tournament run and crushed her hopes of competing for the Owen Hart Cup in front of a home crowd at Wembley Stadium later this summer.

Will Ospreay comforted an emotional Alex Windsor backstage

In a backstage segment following Dynamite, Will Ospreay spoke about his own success in the tournament. He was coming off his semifinal victory over Mark Davis. The Aerial Assassin reflected on the hard work and sacrifices that had helped him reach the finals.

Then the segment took an emotional turn.

Windsor walked into the shot and hugged Ospreay while crying. The segment showed a side of the couple rarely seen on AEW.

Ospreay immediately comforted his fiancée as she dealt with the disappointment of her tournament exit. After hugging her, he gently pushed the camera away, as they walked off together.

For Ospreay, the contrast between joy and heartbreak couldn’t have been greater. As he moves closer to the biggest match of his AEW career, Windsor’s Owen Hart dreams will have to wait.
