NOAH crowns its second GHC Women’s Champion as Takumi Iroha successfully dethroned the inaugural champion Kouki Amarei.
Takumi Iroha challenged Kouki Amarei for the GHC Women’s Title on the second episode of NOAH’s Monday Magic Prime Time Season. This was Kouki’s first defense of the belt since coming back from a torn ACL injury that kept her out of action for months.
Though Kouki Amarei fought with heart and determination into the battle, Takumi Iroha’s experience and skill proved to be more dominant that night. Takumi captured the GHC Women’s Championship for the first time in her career following her signature Running Three bomb.
Takumi spoke to the backstage press following her win, alluding to the ongoing competition between Marigold and Marvelous. Having defeated Team Marigold in a previous match, she emphasized that Marvelous was the more dominant promotion following her win over Kouki. “I won the match between Marvelous and Marigold, so I think it’s proven that Marvelous is strong now. In order to raise the status of the GHC Women’s title holder, I want to find an opponent who can give me the best defense. I want to take the GHC belt to a world level,” she said.
Takumi Iroha’s path to gold, however, does not stop there. She has also expressed interest in challenging for the Marigold World Championship currently held by Utami Hayashishita. Marigold Super Fly Champion Mayu Iwatani has also called her out for a match sometime in the near future.
