TNA iMPACT Results

We get a recap of last week’s event that featured Fatal Influence’s assault on TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich as well as Trick Williams and Frankie Kazarian’s cheap shot on Joe Hendry and Mike Santana in the main event.

The Elegance Brand vs. Myla Grace and Harley Hudson

  • The finish of the match saw Ash plant Myla Grace with a swanton bomb for the win.

Winners: Elegance Brand

Grade: B-

Myla Grace and Harley Hudson might just be the secret recipe TNA needs to spice up their Knockouts tag team division. Booking the Elegance Brand to win the match just week before their big title defense was the right decision. Let’s see if we get a title change at TNA Slammiversary.

Hardys and Rascalz backstage segment

We get a backstage interview segment featuring The Rascalz and The Hardys. Matt hypes up their tag team main event for tonight. He says it’ll be every team for themselves at Slammiversary but they’ve got to take care of FIR$T CLA$$ and The Nemeths tonight. Zachary Wentz gives injury update on Trey Miguel. He says they’re ready for tonight’s main event.

Cedric Alexander, Jason Hotch, and John Skyler vs. Mustafa Ali’s Secret Service

  • The finish of the match saw Alexander hit a Lumbar Check for the win.

Winners: Cedric Alexander, Jason Hotch, and John Skyler

After the match, Mustafa Ali gets in the ring to attack Alexander, Hotch and Skylar. Ali struggles to take down Alexander but Tasha Steelz delivers a low blow to halt Cerdic’s momentum. Ali takes the opportunity to plant Cedric with a chair shot to the back. A confused Ali then follows Tasha to the back as Cedric struggles inside the ring.

Grade: A-

This was short but solid. Ali’s Secret Service actually go some offense on the babyfaces during the opening minutes of the match. Tasha Steelz turning against Cedric took this writer by surprise. Even Ali seemed confused. The stakes may have got bigger for Ali versus Cedric at TNA Slammiversary.

Masha Slamovich and Léi Yǐng Lee vs. Jacy Jayne and Fallon Henley

  • The closing moments of the match saw Masha plant Fallon with her Snow Plough finisher for the win.

Winners: Masha Slamovich and Léi Yǐng Lee

Grade: A-

Match of the night for this writer so far. Jacy Jayne’s intensity is second to none. Fallon is as reliable as they come. Lei Ying Lee took the beating for the most part of the match but her resilience helped create the opening Slamovich needed for the hot tag. I like how they kept Slamovich and Jayne’s reaction to a minimum. Let’s see if Jacy retains her NXT Women’s Championship against Jordynne Grace this weekend at WWE Evolution 2.

The System confronts Leon Slater

We get a backstage segment featuring The System and Leon Slater. Moose mocks Slater ahead of their TNA X Division Championship at Slammiversary. Slater says he’s backed by destiny to become the youngest TNA X Division Champion. Moose says Slater is just another challenger Moose has to overcome. Matt Cardona shows up and tries to warn The System about DarkState. The group leaves Cardona all by himself. Brian Myers has something to say but walks away.

Steve Maclin (c) vs. Jake Something vs. Mance Warner – TNA International Championship

  • The finish of the match saw Maclin plant Warner with a K.I.A. for the win.

Winner and still TNA International Champion: Steve Maclin

Grade: B+

Time constraints prevented this match from getting an A rating. That said, all three men made most of the opportunity. This was a hard-hitting affair from the get go. Jake is on the cusp of greatness but he has got to prove something first. Warner is scary as the Southern Psycho. Maclin is indeed bullet proof or he wouldn’t have survived the fight.

How you doin…

Order 4 parking lot segment

We see Ali and the rest of Order 4 in the parking lot. Ali tries to ask Tasha Steelz questions about her actions from earlier during the night. Tasha sounds off on Order 4 not having any titles in TNA. She tells Ali the world is calling Cedric better than him. She reminds Hotch and Skylar of their lives before Order 4. The System interrupts Order 4, setting up a mixed tag team match for next week’s TNA iMPACT.

Indi Hartwell vs. Victoria Crawford

  • The finish of the match saw Indi hit Victoria with a big boot for the win.

Winner: Indi Hartwell

After the match, Tessa Blanchard enters the ring to cut a promo. Blanchard accuses Indi of ruining friendships. She says Indi has leeched off of her back for years but Tessa will expose Hartwell at TNA Slammiversary.

Grade: C-

What was that scissors kick spot. Indi didn’t seem to move yet Victoria failed to connect her opponent with the kick. And the match ended out of nowhere with the big boot. Tessa was the highlight of the match and she wasn’t event in it. It is safe to assume she’ll carry Indi at Slammiversay just like she carried the match on commentary tonight.

Joe Hendry sitdown interview

Joe Hendry says it’s very painful to lose championship to a person who doesn’t even work in TNA. He says Trick doesn’t respect what TNA stands for. Hannifan asks Hendry for his opinion on Mike Santana’s addition into the Slammiversary main event. Hendry says he respects Santana but puts himself over for putting more eyeballs on TNA. He says they may be in Santana’s territory at Slammiversary but Hendry is the right person to lead TNA. Hendry says fans will lead him to is redemption. Hendry brings up his judo credentials before capping off the interview with the vow to become, once again, the TNA World Champion.

The Hardys and The Rascalz vs. FIR$T CLA$$ and The Nemeths

  • The closing moments of the match saw AJ Francis hit Matt Hardy with a T.F.L. after a distraction by Trick Williams for the win.

Winners: FIR$T CLA$$ and The Nemeths

After the match, Trick and FIR$T CLA$$ gang up on Matt Hardy. Mike Santana arrives and tries to clean house. Joe Hendry pops up but a miscommunication prompts Hendry to hit Santana with a right hand. The two men get into each other’s throats but The Rascalz and The Hardys separate them as the show goes off the air.

Overall Grade: A-

TNA has been putting consistently good shows as of late and tonight’s episode was no exception. The TNA versus NXT women’s tag team match was one of the best matches of the night. Enzo Amore’s video package was a huge surprise. Does that mean we’ll see The Real One in an NXT ring somewhere down the line with the ongoing WWE-TNA partnership? I really enjoyed the tripe threat International Championship match. Tasha Steelz turn delivered the shock factor. The main event and post-match chaos was a nice way to cap off the show.
