ROH Supercard of Honor Card

The announced card is as follows:

  • Ring of Honor Women’s World Championship: Athena (c) vs. Thunder Rosa
  • Ring of Honor World Championship: Bandido (c) vs. Konosuke Takeshita
  • Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championship: Sons of Texas (c) vs. The Infantry
  • Ring of Honor World Television Championship: Nick Wayne (c) vs. Titan
  • Ring of Honor Pure Championship: Lee Moriarty (c) vs. Blue Panther
  • Ring of Honor Interim Women’s Television Championship: Miyu Yamashita vs. Yuka Sakazaki vs. Persephone vs. Mina Shirakawa
  • $50K 4-Way: Atlantis Jr. vs. Lee Johnson vs. Adam Priest vs. AR Fox
  • Hechicero vs. Michael Oku
  • Zero Hour: The Frat House vs. Dark Order

ROH Supercard of Honor: Zero Hour Results:

Blake Christian (w/ Lee Johnson) vs. Jay Lethal

  • The finish of the match saw Blake Christian lock Jay Lethal in the Vanilla Choke Zero to score the win via submission.

Winner: Blake Christian

Grade: B+

That was a fun opener. It’s really surprising to see how far Jay Lethal has fallen down the card in recent years. Christian is on the rise, and this was a big win for him tonight.

The Frat House vs. Dark Order

  • The finish of the match saw Negative One come out and distract Preston Vance, allowing Dark Order to take advantage. Evil Uno hit Vance with a discus clothesline to score the pinfall for his team.

Winners: Dark Order

Grade: B

This was a fine match. Seeing Negative One was a feel-good moment and made Dark Order’s big win worthwhile. Fun stuff all around.

We got a quick segment on the stage from MXM Collection, Johnny TV, and Taya Valkyrie. They are now known collectively as MXM TV.

Lady Frost vs. Diamante

  • The finish of the match saw Diamante hit Lady Frost with a hanging middle rope Cross Rhodes to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Diamante

Grade: B

Solid match. Not sure why I expected Lady Frost to win, but I did. So Diamante’s victory was a nice surprise to see.

The Premier Athletes (w/ Smart Mark Sterling) vs. The Von Erichs

  • The finish saw Marshall Von Erich hit a top rope moonsault to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: The Von Erichs

Grade: B

The match was fine. I get wanting to close Zero Hour with the Von Erichs in Texas, but there were better options on this hour to close this in my opinion. Oh well, bring on the main show!

ROH Supercard of Honor Results:

Michael Oku (w/ Amira) vs. Hechicero (w/ Rocky Romero)

  • The finish of the match saw Hechicero hit Michael Oku with the Guillotine Tornado to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Hechicero

Grade: A-

I’ve never been a big fan of Hechicero personally, but I feel like Michael Oku just gave him the best match that I’ve ever seen from him. This match freaking ruled and is easily my favorite thing I’ve seen tonight so far.

$50K 4-Way: Atlantis Jr. vs. Lee Johnson vs. Adam Priest vs. AR Fox

  • The finish of the match saw AR Fox hit Adam Priest with Around the World to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: AR Fox

Grade: A-

Another great match. The bump from Zero Hour to the main show has been very noticeable. They are going all out tonight and leaving it all in the ring. Really enjoying the main show so far!

Ring of Honor Pure Championship: Lee Moriarty (c) vs. Blue Panther

  • The finish of the match saw Lee Moriarty lock Blue Panther in a Border City Stretch to win the match via submission

Winner: And still Ring of Honor Pure Champion, Lee Moriarty

After the match, the two men adhere to the code of honor and show respect to one another.

Grade: B+

Very good match. Lee Moriarty has done a lot with the Pure Championship in the last year and defeating a legend like Blue Panther tonight is certainly a feather in his cap. I’ll be interested to see who steps up to challenge Moriarty next.

Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championship: The Sons of Texas (c) vs. The Infantry (w/ Trish Adora)

  • The finish of the match saw Sammy Guevara hit Shawn Dean with a Swanton Bomb to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: And still Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions, The Sons of Texas

After the match, Shane Taylor attacks Rhodes and Guevara from behind and brings out Anthony Ogogo. The Von Erichs come out to even the odds, and Shane Taylor Promotions run away.

Grade: B

Solid match. It’s exactly what you’d expect from a match featuring The Sons of Texas. Nothing wrong with it, but it wasn’t mind-blowing by any means. Just a solid tag team matchup.

Ring of Honor World Television Championship: Nick Wayne (w/ Mother Wayne) (c) vs. Titan

  • The finish of the match saw Nick Wayne hit Titan with a Prodigy Plex to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: And still Ring of Honor World Television Champion, Nick Wayne

After the match, Christian Cage and The Patriarchy come out and congratulate Wayne on his win.

Grade: A-

Great match. Wayne and Titan work very well together. There were tons of close near-falls in this and it really helped establish the title reign that Wayne is having right now.

Red Velvet cuts a promo backstage and expresses her disappointment that she can’t defend her title tonight at ROH Supercard of Honor. Velvet says she’ll be watching the four-way for the Interim Championship at ringside. That match is next.

Ring of Honor Interim Women’s Television Championship: Miyu Yamashita vs. Yuka Sakazaki vs. Persephone vs. Mina Shirakawa

  • The finish of the match saw Mina Shirakawa lock Miyu Yamashita in the Figure Four Leglock to win the match via submission.

Winner: And NEW Ring of Honor Interim Women’s Television Champion, Mina Shirakawa

After the match, Shirakawa and Red Velvet have a face-off in the middle of the ring.

Grade: B+

This was an entertaining four-way. I kinda figured Mina would be winning this match and it was a well-deserved title win for her. She’s done great work in AEW this year, and this is a nice reward for her. Hopefully, this isn’t a short reign.

A video package plays announcing that Syuri is on her way to Ring of Honor and AEW.

Ring of Honor Women’s World Championship: Athena (w/ Billie Starkz) (c) vs. Thunder Rosa

  • The finish of the match saw Athena lock a submission hold on Thunder Rosa, targeting her back, forcing her to tap out.

Winner: And still Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion, Athena

Grade: A-

This was a stiff, hard-hitting match. Everything that you would expect from these two women. Here’s hoping both women get a chance to shine in the Casino Gauntlet match at All In tomorrow afternoon.

Ring of Honor World Championship: Bandido (c) vs. Konosuke Takeshita (w/ Don Callis and Lance Archer)

  • The finish of the match saw Bandido reverse Konosuke Takeshita’s Raging Fire into a small package to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: And still Ring of Honor World Champion, Bandido

Grade: A

Hechicero comes out and stares down Bandido, looking for the next title shot as ROH Supercard of Honor goes off the air.

ROH Supercard of Honor Review:

I thought tonight was a strong show full of good wrestling. The main event was insane and worthy to be called the best match of the night. But I personally just wish the weekly ROH product were a fraction as good as their pay-per-view events. The weekly TV hasn’t been consistently good in a long time.

For now, Ring of Honor lives through its pay-per-view calendar. Until the weekly show gets some proper attention from a creative standpoint, people will continue to overlook this promising brand.

Grade: B+
