Gunther officially has his challenger for his title at WWE SummerSlam, and it’s none other than The Voice of the Voiceless.
During Monday’s episode of WWE RAW, CM Punk competed in a Gauntlet Match. The winner would get a title shot at SummerSlam, and things were hectic from the start. Throughout the match, several stars appeared, including LA Knight, Jey Uso, and Bron Breakker.
In the end, Punk — who was the last entrant in the match — made his way down to the ring. The closing of the match saw Punk fend off both Bronson Reed (who was at ringside) and Breakker. To win, Punk hit a rope elbow drop on Breakker, and cemented his title shot against Gunther.
WWE SummerSlam is set to take place on August 2-3, 2025, and will be held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The fully updated card for the event includes:
- Undisputed WWE Championship: John Cena (c) vs. Cody Rhodes
- WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Gunther (c) vs. CM Punk
- WWE Women’s Championship: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Jade Cargill
- WWE Women’s World Championship: Naomi (c) vs. Rhea Ripley vs. IYO SKY
- WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Lyra Valkyria
- Jelly Roll & Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul
