Update On AJ Styles Appearing At TNA Slammiversary

AJ Styles is reportedly coming home.

With TNA Slammiversary just days away, TNA President Carlos Silva announced that, due to high demand, extra seats had opened up at the event’s venue, the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. In addition, Silva promised that Slammiversary itself would be “PHENOMENAL.”

Naturally, the latter fueled speculation about a possible appearance from former TNA World Champion AJ Styles, whom fans know as “The Phenomenal One.” While speaking with WrestleZone, Silva claimed that his phrasing was simply a way to hype up Slammiversary, TNA’s biggest show of the year. However, he did acknowledge the “Phenomenal” moniker as belonging to Styles, whom he described as “a foundational, historical wrestler.”

A new report from The Takedown On SI has since provided a more concrete update on Styles’ potential involvement at TNA Slammiversary. According to the outlet, Styles’ potential appearance at Slammiversary has been planned for “some time,” with upper management said to be making it a top priority. Several members of the TNA roster are also reportedly expecting Styles to be at USB Arena for Slammiversary, though the exact manner in which he may appear is unknown.

Styles spent 12 years under the TNA banner, and in doing so, carved himself a Hall of Fame worthy career. Notably, he claimed the TNA and NWA World Heavyweight Championships as well as the TNA X-Division, Television, and Tag Team Championships. Currently, Styles works for WWE, which is now in the midst of multi-year partnership with TNA.
