Thunder Rosa says she is taking some “well-earned” time to rest.
Last week, F4WOnline.com’s Dave Meltzer reported (via the Wrestling Observer Newsletter) that Thunder Rosa is dealing with an undisclosed injury. She has not competed in AEW or Ring Of Honor since she was in the All Elite Wrestling Casino Gauntlet at All In: Texas.
Now, Thunder Rosa confirmed she is taking some time off. However, she did not allude to why, but said she’s “got some time off.” Thunder Rosa made the remarks, transcribed below, in her new vlog:
“I did not get the results that I wanted, and I got some time off,” she says during a clip in the video. “To be continued.”
“Hello Thunder Army, this is the wrap of the All In extravaganza. Because it was an extravaganza,” she said at the end of the video. “It definitely was a lot of work. It was mission accomplished and you guys were again, a big part of it. And now I deserve a well, well, well-earned ‘resting time.’ Yeah? Resting? yeah. Time off? Hmm… Who knows!”
Thunder Rosa is coming off a busy stretch that saw her compete three nights in a row at AEW Collision, ROH Supercard of Honor and All In: Texas. The latter match saw current ROH Women’s World Champion Athena defeat Thunder, Alex Windsor, Julia Hart, Kris Statlander, Megan Bayne, Mina Shirakawa, Queen Aminata, Syuri, Tay Melo, Thekla and Willow Nightingale to earn a future AEW title shot.
Thunder Rosa previously dealt with a serious back in injury in 2022. She missed a considerable amount of time due to her recovery, and was unable to return to the ring until December 2023.
