CM Punk was emotional as he main evented WWE WrestleMania for the first time.
CM Punk chased his childhood dream of main eventing WrestleMania for years. Between 2011 and 2013, he came close, but WWE never gave him the opportunity. This year in Las Vegas, he finally achieved that dream by main eventing WrestleMania for the first time.
On night one of WrestleMania 41, he battled Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. Living that dream, Punk grew emotional. A moment shown in the final episode of Netflix series WWE: Unreal gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at how the company operates.
In the final episode titled “WrestleMania,” an emotional conversation between Triple H and CM Punk took place before the match. Michael Hayes informed Triple H that Punk was overwhelmed with emotion heading into his first WrestleMania main event.
Triple H went to Punk, and the two shared a heartfelt moment. Triple H was seen comforting Punk saying, “I know what this means to you. Hey, look at me. You’re f***ing CM Punk. You’ve always been a main event guy. Always.” Punk, in an emotional state, says, “I know, I know, I know. It’s just moving to me that you know it too,” with both sharing a hug.

CM Punk broke down in tears after living his WrestleMania dream
After the match, Punk broke down in tears during an interview. He said, “It was everything I wanted since I wore Doc Martens in the ring because I couldn’t afford wrestling boots. It was everything I wanted since I was a little kid. It’s all I ever wanted to do. I just did it. I f**king did it.”
The episode also showed the creative team discussing the idea of CM Punk winning the match. However, they felt it was a predictable outcome and decided to go with Seth Rollins aligning himself with Paul Heyman to create a shocking moment instead.
