Karrion Kross Could Replicate Matt Cardona’s Success on the Indies

Johnathan Coach and Mark Henry believe Karrion Kross could match Matt Cardona’s Indie success.

On Off The Ropes, Johnathan Coach and Mark Henry discussed Karrion Kross and Scarlett’s release from WWE. Coach expressed surprise that WWE let Kross go despite his growing popularity. “I really thought there’s no way the WWE, with how over this guy is becoming, if they put a little bit of effort into him, you could have a really big superstar. Clearly, they didn’t think so. Do you think there’s any part of this that could be a work, or is it a shoot to you?”

Henry replied that he believes the release is real. “I think a lot of it is a shoot because they realize that they have to make money, and they have to, like, start making moves to go other places. They’re not going nowhere for ninety days. So in that ninety days, you can’t sit at home.” Henry added that WWE wants talent to accept pay cuts, but many wrestlers now choose to explore other opportunities instead.

Coach then praised Kross’s popularity, noting, “He is selling merchandise like number two only to Jey Uso. The crowd the other night was chanting for him, and Triple H said, Yep. Well, you got Brock, as if they were chanting Brock and not Kross.”

He suggested that WWE’s payment structure favors one top star over everyone else. “At some point, there’s a number where you can say, I can go do what Matt Cardona did, and I can make more on the indie scene. And Karrion Kross might be a guy that could do exactly what Matt Cardona did.” Henry agreed, saying, “I think he can. I’m not without a doubt.”
