Fans in attendance for Tuesday’s WWE international live event were treated a surprise appearance from local comedian Michael McIntyre.
The live event emanated from the AO Arena in Manchester, England, with stars such as CM Punk, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, and The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) in action. Following their loss to the War Raiders, Kingston and Woods immediately faced another pair of wrestlers, called the Manchester Maniacs.
Together, the Manchester Maniacs marked their professional wrestling debut in triumphant fashion as they defeated Kingston and Woods. Afterward, they revealed their true identities as British comedian Michael McIntyre and a father of two sons.

Great moment when they air it on his BBC show in the future pic.twitter.com/p3SlZMcHcz
According to the Manchester Evening News, this reveal was accompanied by camera crews, who were filming everything for a segment for McIntyre’s Big Show, a variety and comedy show regularly airing on BBC. The sons of McIntyre’s tag team partner, Charlie and Dexter, appeared on stage as well, after which McIntyre noted that he and their father had been wrestling in disguise for a good cause.
As a young child, Charlie contracted sepsis, but due to the efforts of the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, his life was saved. As such, £10,000 has now been donated to the hospital by the show and WWE, thanks in part to the performance of McIntyre and Charlie’s father.
