Bully Ray Wants Tony Khan To Counterprogram WWE WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia

Bully Ray has an interesting proposition for Tony Khan.

The reaction to WWE announcing WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia has been nothing short of divisive, with fans calling the move “easy money” for TKO. Reports suggest WWE initially wanted to deliver a WrestleMania-sized event, but Saudi officials pushed hard for the promotion to let them host WrestleMania 43 in the kingdom’s capital.

The debate over counterprogramming continues, especially with WWE scheduling WrestlePalooza to go head-to-head with AEW All Out this Saturday. WWE previously counterprogrammed AEW when NXT Heatwave coincided with Forbidden Door.

Speaking of counterprogramming, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray recently suggested that Tony Khan should respond to WrestleMania 43 by hosting an AEW event in Saudi Arabia. The former tag team specialist shared his views on Busted Open Radio. Here’s what Bully had to say:

“It’s right there in front of him, man,” Bully Ray explained. “This is your opportunity to put on an event where, ‘OK wrestling fans, if they wanna take their show over all the way over there, fine. Here is what we’re doing.'”

AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm recently shared her perspective on WWE shows going head-to-head with AEW events.

During an appearance on The Sandman Podcast, Storm expressed enthusiasm about the competition between the two companies, noting that it would be “a bit weird” if WWE chose not to do anything against AEW.

“I think it’s great. Come on, fight me! Come on!” Storm exclaimed. “[It’d] be a bit weird of them as a large corporation to just do nothing. It’d be a silly business decision not to. It’s their job. We’re the ol’ hot ticket, we’re the talk of the town.” [H/T Cageside Seats]
