Dustin Rhodes revealed that the late WWE Hall of Famer Vader is the godfather of his daughter.
Rhodes and Vader crossed paths many times during their WCW days, delivering some hard-hitting matches. Recently, a fan shared one of their old WCW encounters on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The fan asked if there was any real tension between them or if they were just working stiff in the ring. Rhodes responded by saying he enjoyed working with Vader, explained that Vader was very snug in the ring, and noted that laying it in added more believability to their matches. He also revealed that Vader was the godfather of his daughter, Dakota.
Dustin Rhodes provides update following knee surgery
Last month, Dustin Rhodes revealed that both of his knees were badly damaged and needed to be replaced. This meant the former TNT Champion would be out of action for a long time.
On August 21, Rhodes underwent double knee replacement surgery, which was successful. Although his return to the ring will take time, he plans to keep fans updated on his recovery through social media.
He wrote on X, “Today marks 2 wks since surgery. Don’t really know how I was doing it these last 5 yrs. Knees were destroyed. Dressing off finally. I look forward to a slow and methodical rehab. Slow and steady. Thank yall for all of your support and prayers. God has it under control. *Sign of the horns emoji* *red heart emoji* #KeepSteppin #DoubleKneeReplacements,” Rhodes said in a post.
Rhodes has now started his recovery journey, and it’s clear he will be away from in-ring competition for quite a while.
