Joe Hendry Being Phased Out On TNA In Favor Of More Time On WWE TV — Report

Joe Hendry has been featured more on WWE TV, and it seems to be by design.

Hendry is currently a TNA star, but he’s been making regular appearances on WWE programming since last year. He worked a match with Randy Orton at WrestleMania, and was on this week’s “Homecoming” episode of NXT. Hendry’s frequent appearances on WWE TV have led to speculation that he’s joining WWE, or might already be under contract.

Hendry is still under contract with TNA, and it reportedly expires at the end of the year. However, a new report from The Takedown on SI‘s Jon Alba revealed that TNA is in the midst of being phased out of TNA programming so that he can be more featured on WWE TV.

According to the report, multiple sources in WWE and TNA said Hendry is “in the process of being largely phased out of TNA programming and integrated more into WWE TV.” It was noted that both promotions expect that Hendry will be in WWE on a full-time basis by the start of 2026. Alba also noted that while Hendry might be featured more on NXT as the year goes on, it’s not to say TNA won’t use him at all in the future.

In regard to the speculation about Hendry’s TNA contract, TNA President Carlos Silva confirmed Hendry is still under contract, but NXT and TNA coordinate talent usage together as part of their ongoing partnership.

This week’s appearance on NXT Homecoming saw Hendry in a segment with former TNA and NXT Champion Bobby Roode, who told Hendry to focus on the NXT Championship. Alba noted that Roode’s comments were not a coincidence.
