Tony Khan is Open for Early Start Times of AEW PPV

In recent times, there has been a surge in the number of live professional wrestling shows broadcast on television and other streaming platforms. Some days there will be multiple wrestling events on the same day by the same wrestling promotion such as NXT Stand and Deliver taking place on the same night as WrestleMania Night one. Also there could be multiple events from a variety of wrestling promotions on the same day, such as AEW’s All Out taking place on the same day as WWE’s Wrestlepalooza.

During times like these, some shows start at a earlier start time than usual. Recently, AEW President Tony Khan shared his thoughts on pay-per-views having early start times.

Tony Khan had multiple pay-per-views this year that had an earlier start time than usual. AEW’s All In Texas, Forbidden Door in London, and now, All Out: Toronto had all early start times. During the All Out media scrum, Tony Khan was asked about having his pay-per-views commence in the afternoon. Khan said that it is something that he will think about as the response for their past three pay-per-views had been tremendous.

“It’s definitely something to think about, especially on Saturdays with the way the schedule works and what we’re doing. I do think there’s something to it, it’d be something to consider also on some of the Sundays. It’s been tremendous for three straight pay-per-views. I think the point you’re making is definitely something I’ve taken into consideration. All In Texas, that early start time and having that manageable start time in the UK. Then we were in London at the O2 for Forbidden Door and that did have that same kind of, domestic here in North America, that kind of afternoon start time like today’s show, tonight’s show,” Tony Khan said.
