The Miz Says WWE Star Has The Talent To Be Whatever He Wants In Wrestling

The Miz praised former WWE United States Champion Jacob Fatu, saying he sees huge potential in him.

On No-Contest Wrestling, The Miz was asked to choose four superstars he would trust to protect him in a bar full of people who disliked him. He immediately picked The Usos, praising them for always having his back, noting a real-life situation where they stepped in during a confrontation.

The Miz added that he would choose them or any Samoan superstar to have his back in any situation. He also mentioned the late WWE star Umaga and included Jacob Fatu in this group, calling them a solid and capable team.

Following the mention of Jacob Fatu, The Miz said huge praise for former WWE United States Champion. “Jacob, the world is his oyster. I think he has all the talent to become whatever he wants to be in this business. I watch and I see the little intricacies, the little things, the connection with the audience that they all have.”

The Miz compared Fatu energy to that of Jey Uso, noting that when Jacob is in the ring, fans can feel his presence. “You watch Jey come out there, the entire arena is erupting, they feel that energy that they have. And I think Jacob has that same energy – when he’s in the ring, I wanna see what he’s going to do next.” [H/T: Wrestletalk]

The Miz reveals scrapped plans for WWE Championship win

Speaking on Bussin With The Boys, The Miz revealed that he was originally supposed to win the vacant WWE Championship in 2011, which had been vacated by CM Punk following Money in the Bank.

“CM Punk left the show and he took the title with him,” The Miz said. “They made up a ‘paper champion’ or whatever. They brought a championship and said, ‘He’s leaving the show. He’s gone.’ They put the title in a refrigerator; that was the big meme. They were going to have a tournament. I went up against Rey Mysterio. I was going to beat Rey Mysterio and then beat John Cena, so I would be the champion.”

“They switched it because usually we like babyface vs. heel. Bad guy vs. good guy. In this instance, it would have been babyface vs. babyface. ‘You need bad guy vs. good guy.’ I was the bad guy, but then, it was two huge monumental babyfaces that are Rey Mysterio and John Cena. Let them go at it. There was a moment there where I would have been a (two-time) champion.”
