Jazmyn Nyx sets the record straight.
On Wednesday, PWInsider Elite reported that Nyx’s work with WWE is done, as she is leaving once her contract expires. According to the report, Nyx rejected the terms of a new contract offer by WWE.
Nyx, real name Jade Gentile, has now spoken out about that report and confirmed that she is leaving WWE. Gentile also confirmed that she turned down a contract offer from the company.
“As you know, there’s been things circulating and I kinda just want to set the record straight, that I am not re-signing with WWE,” she said on her Instagram account. “This was a personal decision I had to make for myself and for my future. Personally, the contract that they were offering me for the next three years just wasn’t going to cut it for me financially and that’s ok.”
Nyx explained how she was a former athlete, and had four knee surgeries to repair her knee, as well as a concussion that kept her sidelined. She added that there have been other opportunities she had to turn down because of her commitments to WWE. However, she can now explore them now that she’s out own her own.
Nyx thanked her fans for supporting her but said, “that’s it for Jazmyn Nyx” in WWE.
Jazmyn Nyx was already written off of WWE TV
On Tuesday’s episode of WWE NXT, Nyx was attacked backstage by a mystery assailant. Fatal Influence stablemates Henley and Jayne saw her lying on the floor, but Jayne wasn’t too concerned with who the attacker was. Instead, Jayne said it was “time to drop her anyway.”
PWInsider reported that this was a way to write Nyx out of NXT storylines before her contract expires. Nyx last competed in a six-woman tag match alongside Henley and Jayne at NXT Homecoming. Jayne will defend the NXT Women’s Championship against Lola Vice at NXT No Mercy, but it seems like Henley will be the only one in her corner.
Nyx, who joined WWE in 2022, will be free to wrestle elsewhere when her contract expires.
