Oops — WWE inadvertently spoiled a new NXT storyline.
This weekend’s NXT No Mercy event featured an NXT Women’s Championship match between Jacy Jayne, the current champion, and her latest challenger, Lola Vice. During the match, a masked attacker interfered on Jayne’s behalf, attacking Vice and helping Jayne retain the title.
The identity of the attacker was not revealed on No Mercy. However, an accidental spoiler was spotted on WWE’s website, as a recap of the match inadvertently revealed the name of the masked attacker.

WWE.com‘s write-up initially claimed that Jayne retained the title thanks to a “shocking assist” from Lainey Reid. The article was soon changed to its current state, which removed Reid’s name and features the following sentence: “Jacy Jayne is still the NXT Women’s Champion, but not without some controversy.” The end of the recap does mention a “hooded figure,” but nothing about the real identity of the attacker.
It’s also worth noting that Reid was pulled from competing at No Mercy due to an apparent foot injury. Shawn Michaels announced Reid had been pulled from her Speed Championship match against champion Sol Ruca on Saturday night. Michaels claimed Reid was injured while training. However, the injury looks to now be a swerve due to her involvement in the Jayne match.
This isn’t the first accidental spoiler in recent memory, as TNA also accidentally spoiled two major Knockouts matches ahead of its live broadcast in Minneapolis this month.
