Shiloh Hill’s rivalry with Tristan Angels took another unsettling turn on the July 14 episode of WWE NXT.
What began as another personal jab quickly evolved into the apparent birth of a much darker persona, leaving fans with more questions than answers by the end of the segment.
The confrontation centered around one unusual symbol that has become synonymous with Hill’s character — his signature fake front tooth.
However, what happened after its destruction suggested this feud is far from finished.
Shiloh Hill embraces eerie new character after Tristan Angels destroys tooth
Tristan Angels entered the ring carrying Hill’s fake tooth and mocked his longtime rival before targeting what he called part of Hill’s identity.
Claiming he had “repossessed” the tooth, Angels accused Hill of pretending to be “normal and respectable.” He called Hill a “creepy hillbilly weirdo” and said he was doing him a favor by exposing who he really was. To drive the point home, Angels placed the tooth on the steel steps and crushed it under his boot. Talk about biting off more than he could chew.
Rather than appearing in person, Hill responded on the arena’s video screen. Surprisingly, he agreed with part of Angels’ message, saying the tooth had helped him look normal and smile, but losing it had freed his mind.
Hill then delivered an ominous warning, repeatedly declaring, “The fog is coming.” As he laughed maniacally, thick fog filled the arena entrance, signaling what appeared to be a supernatural shift in his presentation.
The segment marked the latest chapter in a rivalry that has steadily become more personal. Their issues intensified during the “Mr. NXT Pageant,” where Hill’s quirky personality helped him win over the judges before Angels retaliated with a steel chair attack. Hill later scored a measure of revenge by defeating Angels at the Great American Bash, but the feud has continued to escalate.
While the smashed tooth was a prop, Hill’s missing front tooth is genuine. The former Stanford football player and LFG Season 2 winner has incorporated it into his WWE character since arriving in NXT. Now, with “The Fog” rolling in, it appears Hill has traded a missing tooth for an even more mysterious edge.
