It appears Jimmy Wang Yang knows CM Punk all too well.
RAW Superstar CM Punk is called the “Voice of the Voiceless” for a reason. Over the years, Punk has built a reputation as a no-nonsense, straight-to-business trash talker. His attitude has earned him his fair share of detractors, but even his fiercest critics can’t deny his popularity with the WWE Universe.
That said, Punk knows he’ll have to hang up his boots one day. The Straight Edge Superstar continues to mentor up-and-coming talent, especially NXT prospects, sharing TV time with the likes of Roxanne Perez, Trick Williams, Ethan Page, and Bron Breakker. Punk has also publicly expressed his intent to work with and learn from Shawn Michaels when it comes to overseeing WWE’s third brand.
Jimmy Want Yang addresses CM Punk potentially becoming a WWE producer
Former WWE Superstar Jimmy Wang Yang sees CM Punk potentially becoming a producer in the company. During a recent appearance on the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling podcast, Jimmy praised Punk as a “genius” for pro wrestling but noted that the former multi-time World Heavyweight Champion “wouldn’t take the sh*t that producers have to take.”
“Punk is awesome,” Jimmy said. “I love Punk. His mindset for the business and the stories and angles that he has in his head are genius. He’s a genius for professional wrestling.
“He definitely could (be a producer), but I know he wouldn’t take the shit that producers have to take, so I don’t know. It might be different now with the new ownership, but Punk’s not gonna take as much poo-poo as others, so.”
CM Punk is listed to appear on WWE RAW next week in Dallas, TX. WrestleZone will have full coverage of the show as it airs on October 6.
