Booker T has a lot of people talking regarding his recent remarks towards Jade Cargill.
Last Friday’s SmackDown main event between Tiffany Stratton, Nia Jax, and Jade Cargill got plenty of people talking for all the wrong reasons. Not only was Cargill badly busted open late in the match, but the finish was botched. A miscommunication caused a delay in breaking up a pinfall, leading to a very awkward moment with the referee.
WWE NXT commentator Booker T went off about the main event on his Hall of Fame Podcast, stating that Cargill is “fresh off her AEW run” and hasn’t had time to learn a lot in WWE.
“That can’t happen on live television… It wasn’t a good night at all,” Booker T said. “You could tell there was a lot of miscommunication. You’ve got an NIL talent, Tiffany Stratton. You’ve got Jade Cargill, who’s pretty much fresh off her AEW run, and just think about that time in AEW for her, she probably didn’t learn a whole lot, because – no disrespect or anything – but she was just put on a wing and she never really got a chance to really wrestle anybody.” [H/T: WrestleTalk]
Jade Cargill signed with WWE in 2023
Cargill signed with WWE after departing AEW back in 2023, so Booker T’s comments raised a lot of eyebrows across multiple companies.
According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), there are a number of talents across AEW, WWE, and even TNA that are baffled by Booker T’s comments regarding Cargill being “fresh out of AEW.” Noting that Cargill has already wrestled more matches in WWE than she had in AEW.
Specifically, Cargill wrestled 63 matches during her time with AEW. She’s already wrestled 66 matches for WWE.
