Let’s get down to the nitty-gritty as it pertains to the attendance numbers of AEW All In: Texas earlier this year.
Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics has released an extensive piece surrounding AEW All In: Texas this summer. Detailing overall attendance and public funding for the event held in Arlington, Texas.
According to the report, the actual attendance for AEW All In: Texas clocked in at 23,759. With 21,973 labeled as spectators who had their tickets scanned when entering Globe Life Field.
The event taking place in Texas involved the governor’s office approving funding over slightly over $1 million to help cover the costs of the event. The initial funding was based on an estimated attendance of 33,490 or 32,500 spectators. Since AEW failed to meet these figures, the funding for the event will be closer to around $700,000.
Despite the lower attendance, Arlington City Manager Trey Yelverton was pleased that AEW brought its biggest event of the year to the city and noted he was appreciative of how many people it drew from outside the area.
AEW was pretty successful in getting people to travel for All In, as government records indicate at least 6,258 fans came from outside Texas to attend the event.
Surprisingly, more events were planned for that weekend that didn’t come to fruition, including events from New Japan, CMLL, and a joint concert featuring Chris Jericho’s Fozzy and Swerve Strickland.
