The Rock has an idea of who could be John Cena’s final opponent in WWE.
Earlier this year, The Rock appeared alongside John Cena and rapper Travis Scott when Cena turned heel on Cody Rhodes. Many believed the storyline would eventually involve The Final Boss. However, The Rock didn’t appear at WrestleMania 41, explaining that his role in the story was no longer needed.
Recently, John Cena gave an all-time classic match against AJ Styles at WWE Crown Jewel. With only four appearances left on his retirement tour, fans are guessing who his final opponent will be. The Rock, who helped shape Cena’s heel turn, has hinted at whether he’ll have a say in Cena’s retirement match.
The Rock mentioned in an interview with New Heights that he has a slight influence on deciding Cena’s final opponent. However, he said it’s Cena’s call at the end of the day.
“I have a tiny bit of influence in the booking of it, but really it’s whoever John wants. That’s what it comes down to. Whoever he wants. That should be who it is,” he explained [H/T: Fightful]. “It’s not me, Nick Khan, or Triple H. It’s whoever John wants. That guy has earned it. The best part about John is that he comes as advertised. Who you think he is, that’s who he is. He’s a good dude, and I love that guy.”
